JUST IN: Newcastle United is still interested in signing the 21-year-old sensation, who is out of contract with the club.

Newcastle is anticipated to be a ‘part of the dialogue’ alongside Palace and West Ham for a PSG star following the 2022 rejection.

According to sources, Newcastle United are still interested in Hugo Ekitike, who turned down a move to PSG in 2022.

Eddie Howe attempted to sign Ekitike in the 2022 winter transfer window while he was still at Stade Reims.

He had the world at his feet and chose to join PSG at the end of 2021/22, passing up the opportunity to join the Premier League club.

Ekitike joined the Ligue 1 winners on loan before signing a permanent deal for €28.5 million (£24.5 million) in the summer.

The deal apparently fell through due to the player’s agent’s demands, who instantly became public enemy number one in the industry.

Newcastle were mentioned frequently, although Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Everton were thought to be the most interested.

The latter are in desperate need of a goalscorer, and Sean Dyche will be hoping that summer signings Chermiti, Arnaut Danjuma, and Beto can help.

Meanwhile, West Ham were looking for a new striker after selling Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta, but David Moyes decided to stick with Michail Antonio as his sole out-and-out No. 9.

When the January transfer market opens, the Hammers could renew their interest in Ekitike, though it would be surprise to see Everton mentioned again.

PSG had wanted to use Ekitike in a move to sign Randal Kolo Muani, but the deal fell through.

Newcastle ‘will be part of the talks’ to sign the 21-year-old, who has not been in a PSG matchday squad since the summer window closed, according to the Sunday Mirror.

According to Football Insider, there will be plenty of competition for the teenage striker’s signature, with Crystal Palace and West Ham also interested.

According to the article, PSG are ‘frustrated’ with Ekitike after he turned down a move to Frankfurt, but the player ‘wants a move to the Premier League,’ which is a positive.

A January departure is thought to be ‘the greatest conceivable route ahead’ for both the organization and the player.
