Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is poised to miss two months after sustaining a hamstring injury in the defeat to Brighton.

Erik ten Hag’s team has had a difficult start to the season, with off-field troubles compounding bad performance and outcomes on the field.

United are preparing for their Champions League group match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, following a 3-1 home loss to Brighton on Saturday, when their injury problems intensified.

Wan-Bissaka was shockingly named to the bench after suffering from illness in the build-up and then injuring himself when he came on with five minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, due to an injury, deadline-day signing Sofyan Amrabat will have to make his debut.

Mason Mount has not played since suffering an injury in last month’s loss to Tottenham, and Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Tom Heaton have also been ruled out.

Jadon Sancho has been suspended from the first team “pending the resolution of a squad discipline issue,” while Antony has been granted a leave of absence following assault charges leveled against him.

After losing his status as Ten Hag’s first-choice right-back due to Wan-Bissaka’s strong performance, Diogo Dalot is now likely to have a consistent run in the United lineup.
