SKYSPORT REPORT: Eddie Howe reveals reasons He remove the phenomenal talent from his starting lineup.

Newcastle United’s predicted lineup to face Sheffield United is as follows: Wilson replaces the 23-year-old Howe.

This weekend, the Newcastle United trip continues as we travel from the San Siro to Bramall Lane.

Newcastle have returned to the Premier League after a 0-0 draw with AC Milan in the Champions League. On Sunday, they go to Sheffield United to face Eddie Howe’s team.

The newly promoted side is yet to win this season, but they may fancy their chances against a fatigued Newcastle side that had to battle incredibly hard for a point in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Eddie Howe needs to rotate his team, and this is the lineup we anticipate to see from Newcastle against Sheffield United.
Newcastle make no changes at the back.
Newcastle has kept back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since January.

They defended brilliantly at the San Siro, with Kieran Trippier putting in an outstanding display. The Magpies did, however, have to rely on Nick Pope, who made eight stops to keep AC Milan at bay.

Newcastle appear to have regained their defensive mojo, so Howe should remain with the same back five for the trip to Bramall Lane.

Sandro Tonali was benched in the game against Sheffield United.
The Newcastle midfield looked considerably more at ease against Brentford, so we expect Howe to stick with the same trio against Sheffield United.

That means Elliot Anderson, who impressed Howe with his cameo off the bench at the San Siro, has been recalled. He almost scored for Newcastle, but Sean Longstaff’s stoppage-time effort spared him.

With Anderson likely returning to the starting lineup, Sandro Tonali would be relegated to the bench.

Tuesday night was an emotional night for the 23-year-old, but he was mostly a passenger on his way back to San Siro.

While Tonali is undeniably a ‘quality’ player, Howe should choose Anderson over him on Sunday. The Newcastle manager must rotate his squad, and Anderson deserves a chance.

Eddie Howe’s team is led by Callum Wilson.
We believe Callum Wilson will reclaim his starting spot this weekend.

Alexander Isak looked exhausted against AC Milan, whereas Wilson is in fine form after scoring the game-winning goal against Brentford.

We expect the £20 million striker to be partnered by Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon, who provided pace out wide in our previous Premier League encounter.

Predicted starting XI vs Sheffield United: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Bruno, Anderson; Gordon, Wilson, Barnes.
