‘One of the greatest choices’ for Burnley – Kompany is unwilling to surrender ‘future star’ Burnley teenager Wilson Odobert, who’should be on’ Ajax’s list of choices to strengthen their right-wing position in January, but a deal appears difficult to complete.
According to MSN, the player is one of eight that the Dutch club should be looking at after failing to add at that position this summer.
They explain that Ajax’s right-wing position remains a weakness, and that they badly need to strengthen in that area moving forward.
MSN has analyzed several choices using statistics and believes Burnley youngster Odobert is ‘one of the better options’ for the Dutch club. He, on the other hand, appears improbable.
They add that after Burnley paid €11 million for the player last summer, the expectation is that they will give him time to develop.
He is currently dealing with’sparing raids and opportunities’ in the League Cup, but his ‘enormous potential’ has not gone unnoticed at Turf Moor.
With a contract until 2028, they’re betting on him for the long haul, and Burnley manager Vincent Kompany sees him as a ‘potential hero’ after keeping an eye on him for a while.
MSN believes a deal for Ajax ‘might have been conceivable’ last summer, but it now appears too late to get him because he could now be given a shot in the Premier League.
This may cause Ajax to fail.
