SKYSPORT REPORT: Newcastle United’s main player has signed a contract extension, thanks to Eddie.

Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton & Sean Longstaff contract latest

EDDIE HOWE will welcome the end of Bruno Guimaraes’ contract uncertainty at Newcastle United, and hopes the Brazilian will be followed by Joelinton and Sean Longstaff in signing new contracts at St James’ Park.

Bruno is said to have accepted a new contract with Newcastle, with confirmation anticipated soon – yet, addressing at his press conference on Friday morning, Howe would to comment directly on the topic or claims of a £100 million release clause.

The security that a new deal gives, according to United’s head coach, will benefit both Newcastle and Bruno, who has been linked with various teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid since joining the Magpies last January.

“I think the contract is important for any player,” Howe stated.

“I’m removing everything from the pitch from them.” Personal difficulties or contract issues aside, football is the most essential thing. If a player trains and plays to the best of their ability, he or she will only earn positive results. So fingers crossed that we can achieve an agreement.”

When asked when he expects to hear about Bruno’s new contract, Howe replied, “You might know more than me, I don’t know.” I’m not a part of it. I’m preoccupied with so many games, and that’s taken care of by others. Hopefully, I will hear before you, but it is possible that I will not.”

While Newcastle have long been in contract talks with Bruno and his representation, the Magpies are now thought to be prepared to hold talks with Joelinton and Longstaff, whose current contracts expire at the end of next season.

Both midfielders have been crucial to Newcastle’s progress under Howe, and the manager would be happy if they stayed.

“Certainly, we want to try and build up the squad, but that doesn’t mean we take the players we already have for granted,” he remarked. We need to create the ideal climate for them to want to stay, which we hopefully have done. Obviously, finances play a role as well. They are two important players for us.”
