SKYSPORT NEWS: He is too important to be left out of the squad “Eddie Howe made claims” over the team forward key bearer

Eddie Howe praises Newcastle’s 24-year-old attacker, calling him a “real talent.”

Alexander Isak scored another goal for Newcastle United yesterday, bringing his season total to five goals in all competitions.

Eddie Howe reveals why cash-rich Newcastle will not be able to dominate the transfer market

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak stated after the 2-0 win over Burnley that he should have scored more but that his sharpness in front of goal let him down.

Despite this, the £63 million Swede managed to score a goal in the second half with a coolly taken penalty.

Eddie Howe is’very thrilled’ to have Isak at Newcastle.
At full-time, Eddie Howe talked on NUFC TV and praised Isak, stating, “Really thrilled. I believe the penalty was decisive, and he’s calm, Alex. He’s really cool and composed, and I thought he hid it quite well.

“I think he had another good opportunity that he’s probably disappointed he didn’t take, but he’s such a talent.” He’s a true technician, and we’re thrilled to have him on our team.”

The opportunity Howe refers to occurred in the first half, when Isak was played through one-on-one, but his initial touch let him down, and while he was able to round the keeper, he was unable to wrap his foot around the ball and send it into the empty net.

In the hunt for the Golden Boot, Isak is still four goals behind Haaland.
A lesser player would have let that incident linger in their minds and undermine their confidence, but Isak showed no evidence of this when he converted his penalty.

Isak is still a few goals behind Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot competition, but if he keeps fit, I expect him to be there or thereabouts by the end of the season.

Newcastle face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Callum Wilson might lead the line, keeping Isak for the weekend trip to West Ham. Given Wilson’s track record versus West Ham, it may make more sense to start him over Isak next weekend.
