BREAKING NEWS: Another major transfer setback as Charlton confirms key man exit from club

‘I’ve been trying to get him all summer,’ says the manager of Bromley about the defender for Charlton Athletic.

The manager of Bromley, Andy Woodman, has admitted that he has been pursuing Deje Elerewe since the start of the 2023–24 campaign.

Yesterday, the center back from Charlton joined the National League team.

In the previous season, Elerewe also enjoyed a successful loan with Bromley after arriving on a temporary contract in March.

The 20-year-old scored the game-winning goal in their 2-1 play-off victory at Woking, but was then dismissed in their subsequent 3-2 loss to Chesterfield.

Deji was fantastic for us last year, Woodman told BBC London. I have a lot of respect for him as a person, a young man, and a player. All summer long, I’ve been trying to get him.

He had hopes of joining Charlton’s first squad, but that didn’t materialize. Sometimes a change in management might be beneficial for those of us working at lower levels. My current task is to reintegrate Deji into our team and ideally have him perform admirably for us.

“I’m thrilled to welcome him aboard. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Charlton for making it possible.
