Four Victorian clubs have agreed to the Coffield-Dow transfer, according to AFL trade news.
An agreement involving two players has been reached by Carlton, Essendon, St. Kilda, and the Western Bulldogs.
Paddy Dow and Nick Coffield, who were both past top-10 picks, were successfully signed by St. Kilda and the Western Bulldogs, respectively, as part of a four-club transaction on Monday that also involved Carlton and Essendon.
The Saints get Dow from the Blues while sending Coffield to Whitten Oval. Nine choices were also included in the transfer, which was made possible with assistance from the Bombers.
In exchange for the loss of Dow, who was selected along with Carlton as the third overall pick in the 2017 National Draft, the Blues have received three future selections, according AFL.com.au.
Coffield was selected just five picks later in the same draft and is now with his second team as well. The Saints picked up Coffield along with pick 40 and a future third-round pick when they acquired Dow.
In exchange for Coffield’s entry, the Dogs received Picks 52 and 56 in addition to giving up Pick 40.
As the only club not involved in the player-swapping portion of the deal, Essendon’s involvement has seen them trade Pick 52 and a future third-round selection for Pick 35 and the future fourth-round pick of Carlton.
