Three players are identified by Newcastle as January targets as Toon scouts observe a Bundesliga star.
According to The Sun, Newcastle United has identified THREE targets ahead of the January transfer window.
They claim that we are keeping an eye on Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen because we think the physically gifted 22-year-old may provide something fresh to Eddie Howe’s attack.
During the international break, it is rumored that Toon scouts visited Portugal to observe the Nigerian player in action during the Super Eagles’ matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique. He joined Leverkusen over the summer from Union Saint-Gilloise and has nine goals in his first 10 outings.
The same article states that Howe is eager to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal elsewhere. The England U21 star, who is seen as a bright talent who may flourish on Tyneside, has struggled for playing time under Mikel Arteta.
The Toon hierarchy is waiting to see if Man City’s 27-year-old midfielder will look to leave the Etihad in the new year when Kalvin Phillips is also listed as a target for January.
