BAD NEWS: North Melbourne key star ruled out

AFLW R9 injury update: Bresnehan is getting closer and Ruck will be tested

Kim Rennie, an experienced ruck, will be put to the test before the club heads to Adelaide for Sunday’s matchup with the Crows.

Before the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos head to Adelaide for Sunday’s big game against the Crows, experienced ruck Kim Rennie will be put to the test.

Rennie injured her thumb in the Demons game in Round 8, although she still finished the game with 17 hitouts, nine disposals, and five clearances.

According to AFLW senior physiotherapist Billy Williams, “scans ruled out any sinister findings.”

“She’ll be tested this week at training, but we are optimistic she’ll be available for Sunday’s match.”

Nicole Bresnehan, co-vice captain, is anticipated to make a full recovery from a left ankle syndesmosis injury in two weeks.

“She is progressing through her rehab and is on track to be available for the first week of finals,” Williams stated.

“‘Flash’ will integrate into team training and build out her loads over the next fortnight and if she ticks this off we’ll see her back on field in a fortnight’s time.”

Defender Cassidy Mailer, who is still experiencing thigh pain, will attempt to demonstrate her fitness later this week.

Williams stated, “Unfortunately, Cass didn’t quite finish enough training last week for us to clear her to be available for match play.

This week, she will train with the main group.
