SAD NEWS: Manly Sea Eagles finally lost in deal as ace choses rivals over them

Transfer Whispers: Benji’s $800k performance at star center; Broncos planning to extend Mam

For 2025 and beyond, the Tigers plan to spend $800,000 on Knights standout Bradman Best.

Best recently completed a career season, which included a stellar Origin debut for the Blues in their victory against the Maroons in Game III.

The Tigers will reportedly give Best a contract that will make him one of the highest-paid centers in the league, according to The Daily Telegraph.

With a contract worth more than $700,000 each season, the Knights are allegedly optimistic they can keep Best, but if he isn’t re-signed by the deadline of November 1 he’ll probably demand a little bit more from other teams.

BRONCOS SET TO RETAIN GRAND FINAL HERO

The Tigers are also interested in Dragons back Moses Suli in addition to Best.

Suli had a hit-and-miss season in 2023 for the failing Dragons, but he would make a good addition to a squad like the Tigers.

Suli began his career in 2017 with the Tigers, where he stayed for a year before switching to the Sea Eagles, where he played for four seasons.

With a superb grand final performance, he nearly led the Broncos to their first championship since 2006, raising concerns that Brisbane would face a bidding war to extend Ezra Mam’s contract.

But the Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year is expected to remain at Red Hill, which will be a great boost for the Broncos, according to The Courier Mail.

This sum is based on the potential for a four-year contract for Mam, which would begin at approximately $750,000 per season.

According to Mam, his “aim” is to “stay” with the Broncos.

“I want to start another generation here,” he declared.

“Jumping on this bandwagon here with the other boys and making the Broncos great again would surely be a terrific chance.

“It’s a huge factor for me to see Payne resign and all the other boys stay here,” said Payne.

“I hope we can close that deal quickly. I’ll stay here for a while.

BUNNIES SET TO MAKE PLAY AT MANLY FORWARD

In an effort to prevent experiencing yet another troubling dip the following year, the South Sydney Rabbitohs are prepared to make a move for Manly Sea Eagles forward Sean Keppie.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Keppie, a Sea Eagles player under contract until 2026, is a top target for the Rabbitohs.

According to the article, Keppie’s management has started talking to Souths representatives about moving from Four Pines Oval.

He still has a few years left on his contract with the Sea Eagles, but he is permitted to speak with other teams about a potential transfer.

It would be a devastating blow to the Wests Tigers if Keppie ended up joining the Rabbitohs.

In a previously discussed trade deal that might have sent Alex Twal of the Tigers in the other direction, Benji Marshall’s team had been extensively linked with a move for the 25-year-old.

However, it now seems as though the Rabbitohs have jumped to the head of the line.

South Sydney is counting on Keppie to prevent a second-half slide like the one they had in 2022.

The Bunnies were league leaders after 11 rounds of play, but shockingly failed to place in the top eight after dropping nine of their final 12.

With 20 games under his belt, Keppie just completed his best season with the Sea Eagles.

The Manly enforcer recorded 747 post-contact meters and 22 tackle breaks.
