BREAKING NEWS: Detroit Pistons announces the departure of another major star

Detroit Pistons Potential power forward candidate in the free agent pool

The power forward position on the Detroit Pistons’ roster is undoubtedly their biggest area of weakness.

They have four centers, and they are attempting to make Isaiah Stewart into a four; the move’s success is yet uncertain. The good news is that all of Stewart’s shots against OKC last night were wide open, so at some time he’ll start making them. Stewart had a terrible shooting performance.

The Detroit Pistons don’t really have a power forward other than Stewart because Isaiah Livers suffered an early injury and will be out for at least the first month of the regular season.

Although Troy Weaver has spoken about keeping the roster flexible in case a trade opportunity arises, the Pistons might use the free roster spot to increase their depth at forward.

Recently, a power forward entered the market who might catch the Pistons’ attention.

The Detroit Pistons might be able to land Darius Bazley in free agency.
Forward Darius Bazley was released by the Brooklyn Nets, according to yesterday’s report by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

With the OKC Thunder, Bazley began his professional career, and he had some promising seasons in his early years. He was playing for the Thunder when he was 19 and 20 years old and shown some talent, averaging 9.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 221 games over three or more seasons.

The 6-foot-8 forward was later traded to the Suns and ultimately to the Nets, who don’t have room for him.

In his brief career, Bazley has demonstrated considerable defensive upside. He is a plus athlete with good length. Although he hasn’t been a great 3-point shooter, he did get better past season, increasing his long-range shooting average to 37.7 percent, albeit on fewer attempts.

He has potential since he has a preseason hitting percentage of above 42%.
