Boston Celtics confirmed star that can win year-end award.

Surprise Boston Celtics figurehead can win year-end award.

With all of the major acquisitions for the Boston Celtics this offseason, there were a lot of major question marks to start the season. Boston had to implement two former All-Stars into their starting lineup and paired them together with their two already-established All-Stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday had to bring their skill set into the team while still playing winning basketball. While the season is still in its infancy, the Celtics seem to be clicking on all cylinders.

Coach Joe Mazzulla deserves a lot of credit for bringing all of these cast of characters together. Mazzulla, who took over the Boston Celtics last year after the Ime Udoka situation, had a lot thrown at him last season. After having an entire year under his belt he has undergone many improvements as a coach.

Mazzulla is in his second season at the helm of the Cs, but he is already showing that he can handle major personalities and have all of his players playing together. If he can continue to have great success with the Boston Celtics, this young coach in only his second season will be the Coach of the Year; since his ability to step into this role this season and have his players ready is something that he deserves all the credit in the world for.

His decision to have a lineup of Holiday, Derrick White, Tatum, Brown, and Porzingis looks to be paying dividends. He has all of these great players playing together and understanding that on any given night one of them can take over — all while instilling confidence in all of his players.

In return, they are playing their heart out for the team. Come award season, watch out for Mazzulla as an obvious Coach of the Year candidate.
