BAD NEWS:More bad luck for Newcastle as £43m man forced to miss next game through injury

Newcastle United may now be receiving additional negative news from Switzerland.

Fabian Schar, who recently joined the Swiss national team, appears to have a muscle issue. The national coach has informed Blick, a Swiss publication, that Schar will likely miss at least the next game for his country.

Switzerland plays Israel tonight, and a victory will secure Switzerland’s spot in the German-hosted Euro 2024 championships.

Schar would not have been in the starting eleven tonight, according to Blick, who also believes that Nico Elvedi would have been favored over the Newcastle center-back. Schar was probably going to miss out tonight anyhow

Lately, Fabian Schar has been invaluable to Newcastle.

The good news is that, according to Swiss coach Murat Yakin, Schar’s removal from the team sounds more preventative than reactionary because he was experiencing muscle tiredness following a demanding schedule of games for Newcastle.

Schar continues to train, although he does it in the hotel with a personal trainer rather than following the same regimen as the squad that will compete tonight evening.

All we can hope for is that he survives this trip without any injuries, particularly if he is already experiencing anxiety.

It would be catastrophic to lose Fabian Schar while Sven Botman is out.
