Nottingham Forest promotion-winner finally finds new club four months after his release

The 33-year-old has signed a short-term deal with League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers, joining Reds loanee Dale Taylor at Adams Park.
Taylor made 61 appearances for Forest after his free transfer from Charlton Athletic back in 2020, scoring eight times including a memorable late double against Bristol City.
He hasn’t featured for the Reds since the 2021/22 season, a campaign where he spent the second half on loan at Birmingham City.
After leaving the City Ground in the summer, the 33-year-old has spent four months without a club despite trial spells elsewhere.Taylor spent a couple of weeks on trial at Sheffield Wednesday during the last few months, however, then boss Xisco Munoz decided against signing the striker.

After his arrival, Wycombe boss Matt Bloomfield spoke about his joy in completing a deal for the experienced striker.
“Our discussions were ongoing for a while, he’s someone who I’ve always thought highly of.“I think at this moment in time, with injuries to Brandon [Hanlan] and Sam [Vokes] it was the one position we needed to strengthen – with Lyle bringing real quality and hunger to prove everyone he’s still got it.”
Although his stint at the City Ground didn’t go as either party would’ve planned, the 33-year-old did give the Forest fans some brilliant moments during his time at the club. His two goals at Ashton Gate really felt like the start of the Steve Cooper era, with Taylor taking the game by the scruff of the neck after coming on.He finally has a new club and hopefully, he can kick on and get back to scoring goals as all Forest fans know he’s capable of doing.
