Carlton Palmer makes West Brom transfer claim after links to Key Star Player

After Peterborough’s Kwame Poku was linked to West Brom, Carlton Palmer voiced his opinion.

Because of Kwame Poku’s ability in the final third, former West Brom player Carlton Palmer thinks the club should seek to recruit Kwame Poku of Peterborough.

Kwame Poku is being pursued by West Brom.
After moving from Colchester to the Posh in 2021, the 22-year-old has proven to be an important member of Darren Ferguson’s team, with 12 goals in 16 League One outings this season.

Fans are naturally debating whether Poku would be a decent addition, and Palmer, a former Albion player and England international, gave FLW an explanation of why he thinks this would be a wise move.

“At just 22 years old, Poku can play down either flank or through the middle and has already recorded six goals and six assists for the League One team this season.

“Players who are versatile and can play multiple positions are preferred by Carlos Corberan, as Daryl Dike continues to struggle with consistent game play and fitness.

“If the proposed takeover goes through, I believe Carlos is searching for other options in order to bolster his team and push for a play-off spot or even automatic promotion.”

Considering his age, Poku should only become better, as anyone who has watched him play for Peterborough this season can attest. He is a really exciting potential.

Although he can outplay his opponent rather well, he is also making a significant contribution to his game by refining his technique and poise.

Poku has the raw talent to compete in the Championship, so it appears like he is prepared for the next step at some point—whether that is in January or the summer of 2020.

Though Albion would undoubtedly find a more versatile forward more useful, you might argue that they would be better off with a natural number nine.

If Lai stays in control, the biggest worry will be over who they can retain at the team, therefore it doesn’t appear like Albion will be making any purchases unless they are taken over.

Everyone associated with the Baggies is hoping for a takeover, and in recent weeks, there have been some positive announcements toward that endeavor.

Even though Corberan will be assisting the recruitment team as they ramp up preparations for January, he can only focus on football.

On Saturday, Albion will play again against Ipswich Town in an attempt to continue their strong play of the previous month or so, which has propelled them to seventh place in the Championship standings.
