Journalist Says What Newcastle Will Need To Do In January Window Transfer

The supporters of Newcastle United are crossing their fingers that Alexander Isak will be cleared to play on Saturday; if not, we will once more be without a striker.

Due to injuries to Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak throughout the last few games, Newcastle has played a side without a recognized striker. This is a problem that needs to be fixed during the January transfer window.

Eddie Howe had done a fantastic job of controlling Callum Wilson’s injuries, but the 31-year-old has suffered since he had to play more games after losing Isak.

Newcastle has to take immediate action to prevent this from happening in the future.
Newcastle will need another front-line alternative as backup in case this situation recurs if they are to advance in the second half of the season.

These thoughts were expressed by transfer specialist Dean Jones in the most recent episode of the Chasing Green Arrows podcast.

“I am aware that Newcastle is now debating whether or not to add a new forward in January in light of Isak and Wilson. This cannot undo them; if they had no other choice, it would be devastating for them, according to Jones.
Dean Jones: “I don’t think they trust Isak to stay fit.”

“They’ll definitely think about pursuing another attacking option; it’s likely to be a versatile player who can also play wide; Isak is a great option to play wide, but it’s probably wise that they don’t think he’ll stay fit until the end of the season.”
Serhou Guirassy, a striker who scored 13 goals in just seven games, was linked to Newcastle during the January transfer window (see below).

With a release clause of €17 million (£14.7 million), Guirassy should be waiting for Newcastle at Stuttgart’s door with a briefcase full of cash to transfer him to Tyneside.

We don’t think he will continue to score goals in the Premier League at the same rate—I mean, take a look at Harry Kane’s minutes per goal has decreased since moving to the Bundesliga, proving that you can score goals there for enjoyment, but Guirassy still looks the part.
