In the final of the 90th National Billiards and Snooker Championships, Gujarat’s Mayur Garg defeated Laxmi Narayanan 493-302 to win the sub-junior boys’ billiards title at the Nehru indoor stadium here on Thursday.
Garg, a semifinalist the previous year, dominated the match against the favourite Laxmi Narayanan, scoring breaks of 49, 44, and 45
“I’m overjoyed to secure my maiden National championship,” declared Garg, who defeated Karnataka’s Mayank Karthik in the semifinals.
He then on, “I’m now looking to make it a double by winning the snooker title too.”
