Newcastle And Man City Now Face a Huge Punishment,”Found guilty Of Financial Regulations”

Amidst the ‘nuclear’ FFP punishment ruling, Newcastle United and Man City received warnings about points deduction.

Manchester City and Newcastle have been informed that if they are found guilty of breaking Financial Fair Play rules, they may be demoted. Everton was placed in the relegation zone last week after receiving a 10-point punishment.

The Merseyside team was sent by the Premier League to an independent panel in March due to alleged violations of the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). They were charged with exceeding the permitted £105 million in losses during a three-year period, and the commission was to adjudicate that claim.

Everton was found to have overpaid by about £20 million over the allowed amount. Because of the harshness of their punishment, Everton has since filed an appeal against the decision that resulted in the deduction of 10 points from their current season total.

In response to the 115 allegations against Manchester City that the Premier League revealed in February, it has sparked more conversations about the club. A protracted legal proceeding will take place before a decision is made on those charges. Due to prior accusations made against former owners Roman Abramovich, Newcastle has also been brought up; however, no charges have been brought forward as of yet.

Expert in finance Kieran Maguire has revealed the ‘infinite’ penalties the Premier League may contemplate and has cautioned City and Newcastle that they may be demoted if they are found guilty of breaking FFP regulations. Maguire stated to Football Insider that “relegation is a possible punishment.”

According to the Premier League rules, there are countless penalties that can be applied, up to and including banishment from the competition. Thus, that is essentially the nuclear choice.

“Is it feasible? Yes, but not likely is how I would respond to that. However, we might be looking at a very large drop in points. We could easily receive a 30-point reduction, which would still allow Man City to qualify for Europe.”

Although the club is prolonging the legal procedure, City manager Pep Guardiola has asked for a swift conclusion to the Premier League’s inquiry into their claimed 115 allegations. Everton’s punishment will serve as a severe signal to teams like Newcastle and City, though, as the Premier League looks to crack down on organizations that violate financial standards.

After Everton’s 10-point deduction,Newcastle and Manchester City might be hit with a significant fine if they are found guilty of breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
