The stunning ‘net worth’ of Sunderland owner compared with Everton, Leeds & Co: gallery

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, the owner of Sunderland, has the following “net worth” in relation to owners of Premier League clubs, both past and present.

As he waits for a striker to “catch fire” and give Sunderland the goals they need to revive their play-off challenge, Tony Mowbray will keep switching up his striker lineup. Without a goal from any of their four skilled strikers—Luis Hemir, Nazariy Rusyn, Eliezer Mayenda, and Mason Burstow, who is on loan from Chelsea—the Black Cats will head into December.

Before Burstow arrived, Hemir, a young Portuguese player, was given a shot early in the season and was subsequently given a run of games. Next came Rusyn, a Ukrainian who had started four straight games. However, he was forced to miss Friday night’s home loss to Championship contenders Huddersfield Town due to a groin injury, so Mowbray gave Spanish striker Mayenda his first start now that he had recovered from his injury.

Still, Sunderland’s forwards have not been able to score any goals. After the loss to the Terriers, Mowbray stated, “Burstow played seven or eight games on the bounce, Rusyn has played three or four on the bounce; last night was Mayenda’s opportunity.”

As the Terriers earned a significant away victory on Wearside, Tony Mowbray claims his Sunderland team lacked the “creativity and guile” to overcome Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town. Despite having more than 75% of the possession and 27 attempts, Mowbray’s Black Cats managed to only score one goal soon before halftime through Luke O’Nien.
By contrast, Huddersfield’s Michal Helik, a center-back, gave them the lead from a corner, and Delano Burgzorg gave them the lead again halfway through the second half. “Obviously we are disappointed with the result, disappointed with the performance, we lacked a bit of energy tonight,” Mowbray stated.

“We also lacked the inventiveness to penetrate their defense. It was a day that required us to demonstrate enormous quantities of inventiveness and guile rather than enormous amounts of effort, and I would argue that was woefully missing.
