Tottenham ready to make ‘mind-boggling’ offer to finally replace Harry Kane

According to reports, Tottenham intends to make Juventus a sizable offer for Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to be Harry Kane’s long-term replacement in north London. Vlahovic has been associated with a move to the Premier League for a long time; in the past, teams like Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly expressed interest in signing him.

He was targeted by Tottenham earlier in the summer to replace Kane, but the deal fell through, and he chose to stay at Juventus. However, when the bidding reopens in January, the Italian behemoths are reportedly preparing for a different strategy, so things could change.

Ange Postecoglou has called Vlahovic the “ideal” signing, and TVPlay reports that a “mind-boggling” offer will be made for the player at the beginning of the new year. According to the report, Tottenham is getting ready to make a bid for the Serbian forward that would be accepted by Juventus for about £68.5 million.

Additionally, Spurs would try to entice Vlahovic with a pay of about
£12.8m per season, which works out at nearly £250,000 each week. This would make him the club’s highest earner by some distance but it remains to be seen if that would be enough to convince him to join the north Londoners.

Vlahovic left Fiorentina for Juventus in January of last year, but he hasn’t quite been able to replicate his success there. In 75 games for the Old Lady, he has netted 28 goals in all, five of which have come in his first 12 games of the current campaign.

Though Spurs have yet to bring in a true goal scorer to replace Kane after his transfer to Bayern Munich, he would still be a wise addition to the team. They signed Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest on the final day of the summer window but the Welshman has only managed to score once in the Premier League since joining the club.

In order to strengthen their preparations for the end of the season, Postecoglou recently emphasized that Tottenham must complete their January tasks as soon as possible. He stated: “The January window, like for every club, is an important one.”

“My view on the January one is that if you can get your business done early in the window it certainly is more helpful because you leave it until the end of January and sometimes what you train to gain you’ve missed that opportunity by waiting a whole month. That’s sometimes out of your control.”
