Pioli addresses Bennacer’s role, working with Reijnders, and return date

Prior to the Milan match against Frosinone, Ismael Bennacer had not played for the team for more than two months. To the delight of the San Siro, Pioli did, however, bring him onto the field, and Milan seemed to have a fresh signing to be pleased about.

The Algerian has not been spotted by Milan supporters with their team’s new midfield core. Pioli and the supporters can thus anticipate the best. In light of the significance of their summer arrivals, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders have so far supplied their trio with an undetermined third player.

At his pre-match press conference on Friday at Milanello, Pioli talked about the midfield issue and Bennacer’s role.

“Bennacer needs some time to regain his condition.”

“He [Bennacer] is of the highest level. He has a great personality. He must find his best condition. He had a trouble-free recovery with great consistency. We look forward to it [his return] 100%.”

“I’m discussing Bennacer’s viewpoint with him a lot. We know exactly what we think. It’s never a difficulty to get clever players to cooperate.

Pioli might now be able to realize the full potential of both his new and old assets thanks to Bennacer’s comeback. The midfielder may be the key component that helps Milan’s midfield click a little bit more after he revealed that he hopes to win the Ballon d’Or.
