Following Palmeiras’ 1-1 tie with Cruzeiro earlier this week, Endrick won his second straight Brasileiro.
The teenage player scored the game’s lone goal for the eventual champions, which was only fitting given that his club finished two points ahead of Gremio in second place.
In a recent interview with the media (via Madrid Xtra), the upcoming Real Madrid star publicly referred to a Real Madrid icon as his idol in the game.
It makes sense that Endrick admires Ronaldo’s diligence and commitment because, like the Portuguese superstar, he has not had an easy life. Despite being one of the youngest signings for Real Madrid, the adolescent had a difficult season last year.
At the start of the just finished season, Endrick was not involved with Palmeiras. Real Madrid began to worry about his lack of playing time and how it would affect his mental health at that moment.
Yet, the youngster never caved in. He held his head high and fought on to make himself a regular starter under Abel Ferreira and finished the league season with 11 goals to his name.
