former professional football player and manager, Make Strong Believes Over Tottenham v Newcastle Clash Today

As Newcastle United travels to the capital to play Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon, Chris Sutton has made his prediction.

Both clubs enter the game fresh off disappointing midweek losses, and a victory would put them back on track in their pursuit of playing in Europe.

Sutton was unable to pick a winner between these two teams for BBC Sport, but he was confident that there would be plenty of goals and an entertaining match.

Newcastle must improve its away performance.

Newcastle’s away performance needs to get better if they hope to contend for a Champions League spot for the second year in a row.

Newcastle has only managed one victory in seven away games (albeit a convincing 8-0 victory), and they have only gained five total points, one more than Luton.

The team’s fatigue and lack of bench options against Everton was evident on the field, leading to a very dismal 3-0 loss.

Naturally, they have had outstanding results at home, ranking third in the league with seven victories out of eight, meaning they should have truly had eight from eight if not for that bizarre loss to Liverpool.

However, Sutton believes Newcastle won’t pick up their second away victory of the year against Tottenham and instead anticipates a wide-open, free-flowing contest with lots of goals.
