AC Milan Touch Base To Explore Shock Deal For Aston Villa Star

Lenglet came to Aston Villa in the summer on a loan from Barcelona, although he hasn’t played much at Villa Park.

He has yet to play a minute of Premier League football, having only made appearances in the Europa Conference League. If Barcelona can find a club for the Frenchman for the second half of the season, they are willing to end his time at Aston Villa in January.

After keeping a watch on Lenglet, AC Milan has reportedly contacted Barcelona, per the Italian publication Calciomercato.com. The Serie A powerhouses are reaching out to Barcelona in an attempt to get the terms of a possible loan agreement.

Although AC Milan is interested in the center back, they still need to clear a few obstacles before reaching a deal.

Lenglet is on a €6m per year contract, which means AC Milan would have to pay €3m in wages until the end of the season. The Rossoneri do not want to shell out so much money in wages on a player for half a season.

AC Milan would like Barcelona to pay a certain part of Lenglet’s wages if they are to sign him on loan in January.
