His previous contributions include appearances with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2022, the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021 and 2022, and a brief period with the Montreal Alouettes in 2022. Szott, a U Sports football product, showcased his talent during four seasons at McMaster, earning recognition as a second-team All-OUA player in 2019.

Meanwhile, Brandon Kemp, a 26-year-old offensive lineman towering at 6’7″ and weighing 310 pounds, contributed significantly to the Tiger-Cats during the 2023 season, playing in 10 games and earning recognition as a CFL Honour Roll Nominee in Week 12.

Kemp, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, boasts NFL experience, having spent time with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022 and the Tennessee Titans from 2020 to 2022. Kemp’s collegiate career at Valdosta State University spanned five seasons, culminating in a pivotal role in the Blazers’ NCAA Division II National Championship victory in 2018.

With the re-signing of Brandon Revenberg and the recent extensions for Kemp and Szott, the Tiger-Cats demonstrate a steadfast commitment to cultivating a robust offensive line. This bodes well for running back James Butler, who surpassed the 1000-yard mark in rushing during the 2023 season.

Armed with a formidable offensive line and an elite CFL running back, the Tiger-Cats’ offense appears poised for a triumphant campaign in the upcoming 2024 season.
