Breaking News: One Of NFL Coach Fines Two  Best Defensive players For Weeks, Transgressions And Contention

The NFL has imposed a second fine on Houston Texans defensive lineman Will Anderson Jr. this season, as confirmed by the league on Saturday.

Anderson, a former Alabama All-American, incurred a $16,391 penalty for a hit on New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson during the third quarter of the Texans’ 30-6 defeat on Sunday. This particular incident resulted in a roughing the passer call against Anderson.

This marks Anderson’s second fine of the season, the first being for a similar infraction during Houston’s 30-27 triumph over the Cincinnati Bengals on November 12. The NFL had also fined him $16,391 in that instance.

In Week 14, the NFL handed out fines to 22 players for various offenses, including two Philadelphia Eagles defensive backs: safety Reed Blankenship, a former standout at West Limestone High School, and cornerback Eli Ricks, an alumnus of the University of Alabama.

Blankenship received a $4,843 fine for unnecessary roughness stemming from a hit on Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson during Philadelphia’s 33-13 loss on Sunday.

Interestingly, Blankenship had not been penalized for the hit, but he had to exit the game for a head injury evaluation.

Ricks, on the other hand, was fined $4,185 for unnecessary roughness in a non-flagged play against Dallas, specifically during a Cowboys’ punt in the third quarter.

Although Blankenship returned to full practice on Thursday and is expected to play in Philadelphia’s Monday night game against the Seattle Seahawks, Anderson is dealing with an ankle injury sustained against the Jets.

He did not participate in practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
