Latest; West Ham’s £10m man now ‘in talks’ to leave in January

Thilo Kehrer, a defender for West Ham United, is “in talks” to return to the Bundesliga from the Premier League, with Eintracht Frankfurt showing interest in the Germany international.

That’s what German journalist Christian Falk claims in his Caught Offside column.

After spending £10 million to sign with West Ham United from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, Thilo Kehrer has not impressed. He made several high-profile errors to start his Hammers career and may only make sporadic cameo appearances off the bench.

Kehrer’s Premier League play this season has totaled just 19 minutes.

Furthermore, even though the 27-year-old can play a number of defensive positions, he hasn’t been able to secure a spot at full-back or in the middle of defense, particularly with Vladimir Coufal playing on the right side of defense and seeing some of his best play of his West Ham career.

Thilo Kehrer in talks to leave West Ham United

Falk now thinks that Kehrer will be leaving in January, following in the footsteps of Maxwel Cornet. Frankfurt is “one of several clubs” that have begun negotiations with the benchwarmer from London Stadium.

Eintracht Frankfurt is in negotiations with Thilo Kehrer. Falk says, “It might be a really intriguing solution for Kehrer. “They are among the several clubs having discussions.

“FC Sevilla, who participate in poker, is another name I can mention. It’s unclear to which league he will sign during the winter transfer window, but I’m sure he will.

Kehrer has only made four starts in the 2023–2024 season across all competitions.

Hammers exit likely in January

Before West Ham’s 2-0 Europa League victory over Freiburg on Thursday night, manager David Moyes stated on the team’s official website, “Thilo is a brilliant boy who works really hard in training.”

“His versatility makes him extremely important to us and he brings flexibility.” However, he has found it difficult because some of our players have been playing quite well defensively.

It is unclear if West Ham will try to find a successor. Robert Renan, a defender for Zenit St Petersburg, has already denied rumors that he is considering a move to England.

at the meantime, Donny Van de Beek, the forgotten man of Manchester United, is expected to join Kehrer at Frankfurt as another misfit in the Premier League.
