Newcastle United have been given a shock boost on the eve of their Carabao Cup quarter final clash with Chelsea.

Lewis Hall is still just on loan at St. James’ Park from Chelsea, thus the Magpies have been preparing for the match with the understanding that he will not be eligible for the match at Stamford Bridge.

Hall is anticipated to join the Toon permanently in the summer, but before he can play against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, Newcastle United must first obtain clearance from Chelsea.

Although it always seemed improbable, the Chronicle has revealed that the Magpies have gotten an early Christmas present from their London rivals.

Newcastle can play Lewis Hall against Chelsea

Lewis Hall will be able to play for Newcastle against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, according to the Chronicle.

The 19-year-old scored a spectacular goal in Newcastle’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the previous round. He has started both of Newcastle’s games in the competition thus far. It was the best he’s played since he teamed up with Eddie Howe.

With the chance to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as an away player, Hall now has the potential to return to Chelsea. The teenager will probably find it unusual, and it will serve as more evidence that his days with the Blues are numbered.

Though it has subsequently been discounted, there has been some conjecture that he would actually return to Chelsea in the upcoming season.

After an intriguing few days, Hall now has the opportunity to firmly establish himself as a Newcastle United player and someone who, should Eddie Howe want to play him, can have a great career on Tyneside.

He did play in the 3-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, substituting in late. He showed a lot of energy down the left, but he will be ready to gain more experience. He is especially excited to play against the team that has already decided to sell him for £28 million the next season.
