Just In: Auburn Tigers Confirm A Signing Of A Super Star

Malik Blocton, a highly-rated defensive lineman from Pike Road High School, has officially become a part of Auburn University’s 2024 signing class. Blocton, committed to the Tigers since July 8 under Hugh Freeze, solidified his commitment by signing his national letter of intent on Wednesday, marking the initial high school recruit of the early signing period to formalize ties with Auburn.

Although Blocton had a signing ceremony on Dec. 11, he was able to formally submit his paperwork only this Wednesday. His exceptional senior season at Pike Road showcased his defensive prowess, leading the Patriots’ defense with impressive stats: 118 total tackles, 30 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries, an interception, and two fumble recoveries.

Auburn’s recruitment efforts for Blocton began early in 2021, and despite offers from several renowned programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Texas, Blocton committed to Auburn during the summer.

Blocton’s addition fortifies Auburn’s defensive line roster, which, alongside him, is set to feature Keldric Faulk, Quientrail Jamison-Travis, Jayson Jones, 4-star TJ Lindsey, 3-star Dimitry Nicolas, Darron Reed Jr., Justin Rogers, and Zykeivous Walker, barring any alterations to the current or prospective roster.
