Texans Confirm Another Star Player Likely To Be Unavailable For Sunday Game Against Browns

Texans’ quarterback C.J. Stroud is expected to miss his second consecutive game due to a concussion, which puts his participation in Sunday’s match against the Cleveland Browns in doubt. ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime reported that Stroud is still experiencing typical symptoms like light sensitivity but is gradually recovering.

Stroud sustained the concussion during the team’s defeat against the New York Jets on December 10 after a hit by Jets’ Quinnen Williams. Case Keenum took over as the starting quarterback in the Texans’ recent win over the Tennessee Titans, completing 23 passes for 229 yards with one touchdown and one interception, helping the team to an 8-6 record and keeping their playoff chances alive.

If Stroud remains unavailable against the Browns, Keenum will continue as the starter over Davis Mills. Stroud’s absence is a setback for both him and the Texans, given his potential to lead the league in passing yards and vie for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Stroud’s season statistics include a 62.4% completion rate, 3,631 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, five interceptions, 143 rushing yards, and three rushing touchdowns in 13 games. His impact has been pivotal in elevating the Texans’ status as contenders after multiple seasons of poor records. With Keenum likely starting for another week, a strong performance is crucial for the Texans to stay competitive in the playoff race.
