Newcastle deal now possible as player ‘wants’ Premier League move

Stuttgart’s standout forward, Serhou Guirassy, is said to be considering a switch to the Premier League during the upcoming January transfer window, according to information from the German news outlet Kicker. The 27-year-old has garnered attention with his remarkable displays this season, scoring 19 goals in a mere 16 matches. With a £15.2 million release clause in his contract that can be triggered in January, he has become a focal point of interest for major football clubs.

Yet, the potential complication arises from his anticipated involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations representing Guinea. Despite this, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all purportedly expressing interest in securing a new striker during the January transfer window.

Newcastle United is preparing to pursue Kalvin Phillips ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. According to The Telegraph, the club is ‘confident’ about securing a loan arrangement for the Manchester City midfielder, who has seen limited action under Pep Guardiola.

Due to financial fair play regulations, Newcastle is currently unable to pursue a permanent transfer. Opting for a loan deal appears to be a mutually beneficial solution, especially considering Phillips’ lack of starts in the Premier League this season, having only come off the bench four times in league games. However, as reported by Lee Ryder yesterday, the loan fee for Phillips is expected to be around £7.5 million.
