Rafael Leao remains on radar as champions league club gear up for January battle

Liverpool, despite having a wealth of options in the attacking third, is considering a move for AC Milan star Rafael Leao. Simultaneously, the club is also exploring options for a left-back due to an injury crisis in that position.

Liverpool has a history of securing significant signings in January, and there is potential for more additions in the upcoming transfer window. The team recognizes the impact that a midseason arrival can have on a season, with Virgil van Dijk serving as a prime illustration. Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool has successfully undergone a notable rebuild, particularly in the midfield, following a summer characterized by significant changes.

Despite Liverpool being perceived by some as slightly lacking in the title race, injuries are accumulating, prompting speculation that the team may consider delving into the transfer market. Jurgen Klopp has not openly discussed significant moves, but there is a possibility of addressing crucial gaps in the squad. Stay tuned for the latest updates from Anfield.

Leao remains on radar

Liverpool’s interest in AC Milan’s Rafael Leao persists. While the Reds boast a plethora of attacking choices, only a few have solidified a regular spot in the starting lineup, with Mohamed Salah being the exception.

Leao has been thriving in Serie A and plays a crucial role in Milan’s attacking force. AC Milan demonstrated a willingness to part with Sandro Tonali for the appropriate fee in the summer, and they might demand an even higher price if they consider selling Leao.

As per Francois Plateau, Liverpool sees the Portugal star Rafael Leao as the ideal successor to Sadio Mane, who was a prominent figure at Anfield before opting for a transfer to Bayern Munich.

Left-back replacements eyed

Liverpool has reportedly engaged in discussions with Fulham regarding a possible transfer for Antonee Robinson, as reported by 90min. Jurgen Klopp is currently facing a shortage of regular left-back options due to a dislocated shoulder suffered by the starter, Andy Robertson, and an injury to the understudy, Kostas Tsimikas, who broke his collarbone.

In light of the injury crisis, Liverpool is contemplating a potential move for the American left-back, Antonee Robinson, who has been a consistent presence at Craven Cottage. Despite signing a new five-year contract in July, the 26-year-old is reportedly open to the idea of a transfer to Anfield.

If a deal for Robinson proves elusive, Liverpool might explore the option of recalling 21-year-old Welsh talent Owen Beck from his loan spell with Dundee FC. Beck has garnered praise for his performances north of the border and could provide an alternative solution for Liverpool.

Arsenal may find themselves in a January transfer competition for Sporting Lisbon’s center-back Goncalo Inacio. The 22-year-old has been the subject of Premier League interest, with any potential move requiring a team to meet his £52 million release clause.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Arsenal is currently leading the race to secure Inacio’s signature, but Liverpool is also in contention as they assess their options for center-half positions. Jurgen Klopp has been monitoring the situation closely.
