Milan applying another strategy in pursuit for a veteran player

According to the morning edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the potential transfer of Terracciano to Milan, which appeared to be close after Tuesday’s meeting between directors and the player’s agent Andrea D’Amico, has now hit a slowdown.

The reason behind the deceleration is straightforward: aside from facing competition from Fiorentina, Bologna, and Juventus, the impressive performance of some younger players in the Coppa Italia win over Cagliari, including Alex Jimenez excelling at left-back, has lessened the immediate need for a new full-back.

Consequently, Milan has eased off the negotiations with Terracciano. With Matteo Gabbia’s return, the primary focus seems to have shifted to securing a new central defender. Yet, even in this area, the positive performances from Jan-Carlo Simic in recent weeks might influence the club’s plans.

Simultaneously, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that there has been no progress on the Terracciano-Milan front. Milan is unwilling to exceed a sum of €4 million, including bonuses, while Verona is holding out for €5 million, aiming to use the competition to initiate an auction for the player.
