Sunderland among top European clubs eager to sign Manchester united star

Amad, the Manchester United winger, reflects on gaining valuable experiences both on and off the field during his loan period at Sunderland. Last season, the 21-year-old contributed significantly with 14 goals in 39 Championship matches for the Black Cats, ultimately aiding the team in reaching the Championship play-offs.

Sunderland had been monitoring Amad’s status during the summer, but his plans were interrupted by a knee injury that kept him out of action for an extended period. Several Championship clubs, such as Southampton, Ipswich, and Leicester, had also expressed interest in securing a loan deal for the player. Amad recently made his eagerly anticipated return during Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest last week.

In an interview with United’s website regarding his loan stint at Sunderland, Amad shared, “It was a very positive experience for me because I gained valuable insights both on and off the field. Now, I feel more confident and experienced, ready to handle the demand of playing matches every three days, a crucial aspect in the Premier League. It was challenging, but I’m eager to play more football and contribute upon my return to United. The fans were fantastic, showing a lot of love, and I worked hard on the pitch to reciprocate their trust.”

Amad has confirmed that he won’t be part of the Ivory Coast national team squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Despite interest from other clubs, there might be increased opportunities for Amad in Manchester United’s first team, especially with the anticipated departure of Jadon Sancho from Old Trafford this month.
