‘Mixed Issues’ Titans Owners  Explain Why  Carolina Panthers OC Thomas Brown Replace Mike Vrabel

Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk and general manager Ran Carthon have continued their rigorous search for the team’s next head coach, recently conducting the eighth interview in the process.

The latest candidate to face Titans leadership in a virtual interview, facilitated through Zoom, is Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson.

Brian Johnson’s coaching prowess has garnered attention, particularly in his inaugural season as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator. Under his guidance, the Eagles achieved an impressive top-10 ranking in various statistical categories.

Notably, they secured the fifth position in rushing touchdowns with a total of 22, ranked seventh in points scored with an impressive 433, and stood eighth in both total yards (6,024) and rushing yards (2,190). In the passing game, the Eagles landed at a commendable 16th, amassing 3,834 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Johnson’s coaching journey includes a recent interview with the Atlanta Falcons and a request for an interview from the Carolina Panthers, underscoring the widespread recognition of his coaching acumen.

Prior to assuming the role of offensive coordinator with the Eagles in 2023, Johnson served as the quarterbacks coach in Philadelphia for a span of two years. His elevation to the offensive coordinator position coincided with Shane Steichen’s appointment as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Titans’ coaching search has been extensive, encompassing interviews with various accomplished candidates.

Among those interviewed are Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown.

Looking ahead, the Titans have scheduled interviews with former Stanford head coach David Shaw, along with Detroit Lions coaches Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson in the coming days.
