Oklahoma lands in top-eight for top-150 Experience Star player Signing

Trent Wilson, a standout defensive lineman in the 2025 class, has recently unveiled his top eight college choices, marking a crucial phase in the recruiting process.

Previously fielding offers from nearly 30 schools, Wilson has now narrowed down his options to a select group, which includes Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Maryland, and Florida State.

This development is particularly promising for the Oklahoma Sooners, who have been actively pursuing Wilson.

Recent efforts by the program to recruit the talented defensive lineman seem to be gaining traction, with a scheduled spring visit planned for Wilson in early March.

Demonstrating their commitment, OU’s defensive line coach, Todd Bates, personally visited Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where Wilson is based.

The competition for Wilson’s commitment is fierce, as he is already recognized as one of the top talents in the junior class.

According to the 247Sports Network’s rankings, Wilson is positioned as a top-150 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, a four-star prospect, and a top-15 defensive lineman nationally.

Additionally, he holds top-five player status within the state of Maryland. Composite Player Rankings further boost Wilson’s profile, placing him as the No. 110 prospect in ’25, a top-10 defensive front liner, and a top-three player in Maryland.

While Penn State appears to be in a favorable position in Wilson’s recruitment, with recent visits and indications pointing towards the Nittany Lions, a busy schedule lies ahead.

Wilson is set to visit Florida State, with additional trips planned to Maryland and the previously mentioned visit to Oklahoma in early March. Future visits to the remaining schools in his top eight are also anticipated.

Despite Penn State’s surge, the recruitment process remains open, with no decision date or timeline established by Wilson. Currently, there are no Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports, underscoring the wide-open nature of his decision-making process.
