Just In: Cleveland Browns Has a Strong  Connection to Tennessee Titans

Maintaining a highly effective coaching staff comes with its challenges, and the Cleveland Browns find themselves grappling with the potential loss of valuable talent.

The spotlight is on defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who harbors aspirations for another shot at a head coaching position. While he has not pursued interviews elsewhere, the Browns face the looming threat of losing one of their assistant coaches.

Brian Callahan, who made the move from the Cincinnati Bengals to assume control of the Tennessee Titans, is currently in search of a new defensive coordinator.

In this pursuit, he has engaged in discussions with Brandon Lynch, the Cleveland defensive backs coach, as a potential candidate. Additionally, Dennard Wilson, the Ravens’ defensive backs coach, is on Callahan’s radar for the role.

The focal point of this scenario revolves around Brandon Lynch and the prospective role he might undertake.

Lynch shares a significant connection with Tennessee, having signed as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2004 and played collegiate football at Middle Tennessee State.

New Cleveland Browns Coordinator Jim Schwartz Has Built The NFL's Best DefenseNotably, in his inaugural season overseeing the cornerbacks for the Browns, the team’s defense achieved top rankings in both total yards and passing yards allowed.

Before assuming his current position with the Browns, Lynch served as the assistant defensive backs coach for three seasons.

His commendable contributions under Joe Woods caught the attention of Jim Schwartz, leading to not only his retention on the coaching staff but also his promotion.

Lynch played a pivotal role in developing several young defensive backs, ensuring their readiness to step up in the face of injuries during the 2023 season.

While deserving of a promotion, Lynch’s potential departure would undoubtedly pose a substantial loss for the Cleveland Browns.
