After adding former Jets cornerback Bryce Hall, the Buccaneers are now eyeing free agent Tavierre Thomas, formerly of the Houston Texans, who is set to visit Tampa Bay, as reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Thomas, who recently also visited the Lions, could potentially become the fifth external free agency signing for the Buccaneers this offseason.

With six years of NFL experience, Thomas has split his career between the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans.

Despite playing only 30.88% of defensive snaps for the Texans last season, he brings value to special teams, having played 28.97% of snaps in that capacity.

Throughout his career, Thomas has amassed 144 solo tackles, 81 assists, one sack, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions.

Notably, both interceptions were recorded in the 2021 season, during which he appeared in all 17 games.

Thomas’s potential signing would bolster Tampa Bay’s depth and could complement their defensive roster, especially if the team chooses to draft a cornerback in the upcoming draft.”
