A man in Kansas City is accused of taking goods from the Miami Dolphins truck following their playoff game.
Missouri’s Kansas City (KMBC) — A guy has been accused by Jackson County prosecutors of breaking into a Miami Dolphins vehicle and taking different pieces of equipment.
Court documents state that Joseph Brown is accused of stealing as a crime.
The Miami Dolphins’ box truck was broken into on January 14, 2024, the day following the two teams’ playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium, according to a probable cause statement.
Court documents state that the Dolphins reported a break-in of their box truck, which led to the theft of $46,376 worth of team equipment.
According to a probable cause, the theft took place in Kansas City’s downtown.
After watching security footage, police were able to identify the gray Ford F-150 that belonged to the suspect. Equipment boxes that matched the Dolphins’ equipment description were discovered inside the vehicle later that day.
Subsequently, investigators discovered a house on the 2000 block of Askew Avenue that was connected to other thefts.
During a surveillance check of the house, detectives noticed a truck that fit the suspect’s description driving away from the scene and into another area where they discovered a stolen Miami Dolphins coat.
A few days later, the 2000 block of Askew Avenue residence was the target of a search warrant execution, which turned up stolen Dolphins jackets and other goods, including burned items with the team’s insignia.
A bail of $50,000 has been asked for.
According to court records, Brown had already been convicted guilty of many offenses.
