According to a report on Friday from L’Equipe, Olivier Giroud (37), is expected to join with Los Angeles FC of the Major League Soccer (MLS) after his contract with AC Milan expires in June.
Giroud would meet up with his close friend and former colleague from France, Hugo Lloris, who joined Los Angeles FC at the beginning of the year, in California.
This implies that France’s top scorer with Les Bleus, with 56 goals to his credit, will partner with the player with the most caps—145.
The publication is aware that paperwork must yet be finished before Giroud can transfer to Los Angeles FC, as requested. Giroud’s brilliant career in Europe is coming to an end as the MLS team has spent weeks trying to persuade him to move across the Atlantic.
The center-forward has won four FA Cups with both Arsenal and Chelsea, the 2019 Europa League, the 2021 Champions League with the Blues, the 2012 Ligue 1 title with Montpellier, and the 2018 World Cup and 2021 Nations League with France.
Giroud joined AC Milan after winning the Big Ol’ Ears with Thomas Tuchel’s team, and in his first season in Italy, he played a key role in the Rossoneri’s 2022 Serie A championship victory.
