Breaking News: Browns owners Respond To NFL Controversy, And Others Top Men

President Trump’s objection to NFL players kneeling during the national anthem has sparked an ongoing NFL issue. On Sunday, Cleveland Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam replied to the topic.

The statement was made in reaction to remarks made by President Trump on Friday at a rally in Alabama, when he advocated for NFL players who chose to kneel during the national anthem to be fired.

The President’s remarks were deemed “misguided, uninformed, and divisive” in Haslam’s statement.

We see our league, our organization, and our athletes as excellent means of bringing people together.

Like so many others in our league, our players have been sincere and considerate in their efforts to raise awareness of the problems associated with social injustice and inequality.

We were really touched by the profound and impactful conversation they started within our company when they expressed their desire to come together and not be rude, using well-known and significant phrases like “one nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

Their goal is to bring about constructive and cohesive change, as seen by the solidarity they fostered before our home opener.

Over the course of the last month, they have established direct communication with the Cleveland Police Department and developed a strategy to collaborate in our neighborhoods, further demonstrating their commitment to bringing together the various elements of our community.

We are also proud of the numerous other noteworthy things they do all year long to better the lives of people in our city in a modest and meaningful way.

We cannot allow the President or anybody else’s stupid, ignorant, and polarizing remarks to discourage us from trying to come together.

We will continue to strongly advocate for our players’ and all Americans’ rights to peaceful, personal speech, and we will urge them to politely use the platform they have been granted to effect constructive change in our country and in society at large.”

Along with the Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, and Seattle Seahawks, the owners of the Browns are among the NFL teams that have replied to Trump’s remarks.
