Vontae Davis, a former cornerback for the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts, was found dead in his South Florida home on Monday, according to authorities. According to them, there was no sign of foul play.

Law officers in the Davie, a Fort Lauderdale suburb, stated that they were summoned to Davis’ residence on Monday morning because of a medical concern. But the 35-year-old was already dead when they got there.

The precise cause of death has not yet been made public in order to allow for more investigation. The police stated that they are looking at the situation seriously.

After being selected by the Dolphins in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Illinois, Davis spent 10 seasons as an NFL player. The Dolphins released a message on social media expressing their shock at Davis’ untimely death and their sympathies to his loved ones.

In 2012, Davis was traded to the Colts, where he played for six seasons after spending three seasons with Miami. Jim Irsay, the owner of the Colts, also posted a picture of Davis online wearing a Colts uniform and expressed his condolences for Davis’ family.
