arted the Ducks on Monday to accept a position as Ohio State’s running backs coach.

After positions as a running backs coach at SMU and TCU, Samples, at 29 years old, was the youngest running backs coach in the NFL when he was appointed as Arizona State’s pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach last year.

“When you think of Coach Samples, this is a guy who’s been an assistant head coach in college football from the time he was 26,”Arizona State

Not only is Samples considered one of the best recruiters in the country, but he also assisted Arizona State wide receiver Elijhah Badger in being named an honorable mention All-Pac 12 player last season and assisted Ulysses Bentley in being an SMU Freshman All-American running back in 2020.

Dillingham described Samples as “a young dude, but he has a presence” in the previous year.

“He is a leader.

He’s not a little man that the average youngster would walk right over. He’s the man who brings his kids into the conference rooms early. He’s a man who treats guys harshly. He’s a person with expectations.”

As head coach Kenny Dillingham stated the previous season. “In the NFL, he is the youngest position coach.

One day, this man will be the college football team’s youngest head coach. It will take place. He will be, without a question in my mind. He’s prepared for it. Today, he could go conduct a program.

I’m not sure whether someone will take a chance on hiring someone that young. However, if they were to employ him right now, he could take over a football program.”
