Breaking news:49ers Three Biggest Issues This Season Is Offensive And…

The 49ers still have three openings to fill this summer.
During a game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on December 25, 2023, the San Francisco 49ers offensive line is seen in action alongside the Baltimore Ravens defensive line at the line of scrimmage.

The 49ers have completed their roster in most areas, and there are just a few weeks left until the 2024 NFL Draft. On both sides of the football, some positions, though, require a bit more care and attention than others.

With ten selection picks in the 2024 NFL selection, the Red & Gold are looking to rebuild their depth chart following yet another wave of mass departures this summer.

However, some positions—particularly on defense—might require the presence of a veteran.

General manager John Lynch must strike the ideal balance when it comes to filling up the 90-man roster for San Francisco in order for the team to contend for another Super Bowl in 2024.

Let’s examine those choices as well as the spots the 49ers ought to target

in free agency and/or the draft.

Offense: Aaron Banks, Jon Feliciano, Colton McKivitz, Spencer Burford, Brandon Parker, Trent Williams, and Jake Brendel

Defense: Jordan Elliott, Kevin Givens, Drake Jackson, Robert Beal Jr., T.Y. McGill, Javon Hargrave, Maliek Collins, Yetur Gross-Matos, Nick Bosa, Leonard Floyd, and Jordan Elliott

As it was at the close of the season, the 49ers’ offensive and defensive lines remain their largest area of needing improvement.

San Francisco has developed a “strength in numbers” strategy in the trenches, encircling exceptional players with dependable rotating players who possess raw qualities.

It has both succeeded and failed in many ways, especially on the OL. But all of it may be fixed in the draft.

The 49ers should add a player, preferably a combination guard/tackle, to the right side of the offensive line.

Although Colton McKivitz and Jon Feliciano have performed admirably in their jobs, the goal should be finding Trent Williams’ replacement—a talented young offensive lineman. This document has everything it takes to make it happen.

49ers believe in Colton McKivitz more than you do

Combining free agency and the draft may be the key in defense. Lynch has already done a good job taking Arik Armstead’s place along with a few other rotation members.

But they need to find oil by the end of April in order to have a cohesive unit. Alternately, just include one more excellent veteran in the mix.
