Over the past few months, a lot has transpired between Nick Chubb and the Cleveland Browns. Chubb sustained a torn meniscus and MCL after being struck in the left knee during the second week of the 2023 season. In order to fix his ACL, he also needed to have additional operation.
The Georgia product and the Browns hashed out a revised contract a little less than a week ago, bringing his salary cap charge down to $11.775 million.
Not to mention that Chubb is about to enter the last year of his contract. The 28-year-old is rehabilitating diligently, nevertheless, in order to play again in 2024. Instead of providing a timetable for Chubb, head coach Kevin Stefanski offered some encouraging advice.
When healthy, Chubb is one of the league’s best running backs. In six NFL seasons, the four-time Pro Bowl pick amassed 6,511 running yards and 48 rushing touchdowns.
The offense will benefit whenever he returns to the field. Cleveland made sure to have a sufficient number of talented tailbacks so that Chubb wouldn’t have to rush back.
Nyheim Hines, D’Onta Foreman, and Jerome Ford make up the Browns’ backfield, but Chubb will be the team’s workhorse once he’s fit to go.
The Browns are a good team with an opportunity to challenge for the AFC North championship.
