According to, the 49ers have discussed “about trading either” Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk in order to advance in the first round.

Steelers Now Have Shot at Deebo Samuel?

Since the beginning of the 2024 offseason, trade speculations involving the 49ers’ wide receivers have been circulating.

Earlier this month, 26-year-old Brandon Aiyuk unfollowed the team on social media due to a contract issue. In an effort to hold out until a new contract is finalized, Aiyuk has also declined to participate in the team’s optional offseason training.

Given that other wide receivers Devonta Smith and Amon-Ra St. Brown recently agreed to large contract extensions, those figures appear to be rising over time. Viewing that as a chance to give the positional market a break, Aiyuk is aiming to sign a long-term contract at more than $25 million a year.

The Rocklin native posted a video of himself dancing this week to show off how happy he was with those deals:

During trade talks concerning Brandon Aiyuk, many teams are asking about the availability of fellow 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. To make that trade, the 49ers would probably need to be completely blown away by the offer. Adaptable circumstances nevertheless.

49ers general manager John Lynch reiterated that idea on Monday, telling the reporters that it would be premature to expect an Aiyuk deal by Friday.Earlier in the week, Silver also said that Samuel had been informed by his “bosses” that he would not be moved on draft night.

Lynch has demonstrated, though, that he is prepared to take a chance, particularly in the draft season. Right now, the situation is still unstable and it will stay that way until Round 1 concludes.
