The Atlanta Braves acquired utility infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox on Thursday after dealing infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels, each for cash.

On Thursday, the Atlanta Braves traded infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash, and then acquired utility infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox.

Before being traded to the Angels this season, Guillorme threw one inning in relief and started five games for the Braves at second base and one game at shortstop. In 20 at-bats, 29-year-old Guillorme hit.150.

From 2018 to 23 Guillorme was a player with the New York Mets. His lifetime batting average is.258.

The Red Sox designated Short, 28, for assignment on Wednesday, and the Braves acquired him for cash.

Short was acquired from the Mets on May 1st, again for cash, and had not produced a hit in seven at-bats for Boston. On April 26, the Mets designated him for assignment.

This season, Short has filled in at shortstop, third base, and second base. With the Mets and Detroit (2021-23), Short has played 189 games and has a.177 average with 13 home runs, 55 RBIs, and eight stolen bases.
