Saints CB Marshon Lattimore was the subject of trade speculations over the summer. Dennis Allen, the head coach, took some time this past weekend to address these allegations.

At the Chateau Country Club in Kenner, Louisiana, there was a celebrity golf event that featured the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame.

Allen had a conversation with Mike Triplett of New Orleans Football at the golf event.

Allen disclosed in the exchange that he and Lattimore had a “positive” discussion about Lattimore’s future with the team. Following their talk, Allen is certain that he and Lattimore will “move forward” in the 2024 season.

For the past seven seasons, Lattimore has been an integral member of this Saints defense. This last offseason, trade speculations surfaced mostly because of the nature of his deal.

In theory, he is under contract with the Saints through the conclusion of the 2028 campaign. Nonetheless, the Saints’ contract includes an opt-out option that they are free to utilize following the 2024 campaign.

Consequently, there were rumors that they might think about dealing Lattimore to a team that would want to rent him out.
