Texas Longhorns Latest News: Auburn makes Action move for Texas TE Hours Ago….

Auburn Impresses Texas Commit Emaree Winston During Official Visit

AUBURN,  Four-star tight end Emaree Winston, currently committed to Texas, returned to Auburn for an official visit, marking his first trip back since attending a Tigers camp in eighth grade.

Despite his commitment to the Longhorns, Winston left Auburn with a strong impression of Hugh Freeze’s program and plans to return.

Winston explained that he had not been in contact with Auburn until Coach Ben Aigamaua reached out during Winston’s spring practice. “I had shut my recruitment down,” Winston said.

“But now we talk every day. I get a Bible verse every morning from them. My mom loves that, and I love it too. It means a lot because God comes first.”

Winston praised Coach Ben for his energy and coaching style, noting their growing relationship.

During his visit, Winston appreciated spending time with the coaches, exploring the campus, and learning about the program.

A significant highlight was Auburn’s focus on involving tight ends in the offense, exemplified by last season’s utilization of Rivaldo Fairweather.

“The development of the tight ends was crucial for me,” Winston said. “Coach Ben showed me how they use them, and Fairweather is a standout. They’re doing the same things I do.”

Winston, who initially committed to Texas due to their tight end development, now finds Auburn’s proximity to home a potential factor in his decision.

“It’s two hours from my house,” he noted, adding that being close to family is becoming more significant.

Accompanied by his family on the visit, Winston acknowledged that distance wasn’t a consideration initially, but Auburn’s use of tight ends and being near home are changing that perspective.

“My family would come to every game, whether I’m at Texas or here,” he said.

Additionally, Winston’s relationship with Ryan Ghea, a close friend and fellow tight end committed to Auburn, is influencing his thoughts.

“I met Ryan in ninth grade at a Georgia camp. We’ve been close ever since,” Winston said. “We talk almost every day. He committed to Auburn and still wants me to join him there. We’ve got a good relationship.”

Auburn’s efforts are clearly making an impact, and Winston’s official visit has significantly influenced his view of the Tigers’ program.
